Download your eSIM settings

Use these steps to download your eSIM settings. You must contact your carrier to activate service first.

To set up your eSIM as the first line on your phone:

  1. Remove the physical SIM from your phone prior to starting up.
  2. Make sure you’re connected to the internet through Wi-Fi.
  3. When you see the screen Connect to mobile network, tap Don’t have a SIM Card? > Next.
  4. Choose your carrier. Click T-Mobile or Use a different network.
  5. Scan the QR code.

If you already have a physical SIM active in your phone:

  1. Make sure you're connected to the internet through Wi-Fi.
  2. Swipe up on the Home screen to view your apps.
  3. Tap Settings > Network & internet.
  4. Tap the + icon next to Mobile network.
  5. Tap Don't have a SIM card? > Next.
  6. Choose your Carrier. For T-Mobile, tap Use a different network.
  7. Follow the on-screen steps to download your eSIM settings. For T-Mobile, scan the QR code.

Label your plans / lines

After your second plan is activated, you can label your plans / lines for easy identification. For example, you can label one plan Business and the other plan Personal.

  1. Swipe up from the Home screen to view your apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Network & internet.
  3. Tap the line that you want to name.
  4. Tap the pencil icon in the upper right corner.
  5. Fill in the Name field with the name you want for your line.
  6. Tap Save.

  4. Select the eSIM that you want to erase.
  5. Tap Advanced.
  6. Tap Erase SIM.

View how much signal each line has

To view how much signal each line has, check out the signal bars on your phone’s status bar.

If you have 2 SIMs installed on your phone, the first set of bars will correspond to the first SIM you installed. (For example, if you installed a physical SIM card first, and later added an eSIM, then the physical SIM will be the first set of bars.)

The SIM that is using mobile data will display the word LTE to the left of its signal bars on the phone’s status bar.

Choose your default line for voice, messages, and data

  1. Swipe up from the Home screen to view your apps.
  2. Tap Settings > Network & internet.
  3. For your default voice line, tap Call preference and select which line you want to use.

Device Setup

1. When turning the device on for the first time, or after a factory reset, you will be walked through a series of prompts to set up your device. Choose the desired language, then select Start to continue.

2. If you would like to connect to a Wi-Fi network, select the desired network name and follow the on-screen prompts. Select Use mobile network for setup to continue on your mobile network.

3. If you would like to restore data from your old device to your new device, select Next and follow the prompts. Select Don't copy to set up the device without restoring.

4. Logging into a Google account is required if you intend to use Google Services such as the Play Store, Gmail, Google Maps, and more. If you would like to add your Google account, enter your Email or phone number then follow the prompts. If you do not have an account but would like to add one, select Create account. If you would like to continue without setting up an account, select Skip. Select Next to continue.

5. Review the Google Services prompt. Select I agree to continue setting up the device.


Note: You will only receive this screen if you added your Google account.


6. Review the Google services prompt, then select the desired switches. When finished, select Accept. Review the Additional legal terms prompt, then select I accept

7.  If you would like to set up a screen lock for security, enter the desired PIN then select Next. To secure your device using an alternate screen lock, select Screen lock options then select the desired option and follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup. To proceed without setting up a screen lock, select Skip.

Note: If you select Skip, reveiew the prompt then select Skip again to continue without setting up a screen lock.Select Continue to continue setting up device.

8. Review the Access your Assistant with Voice Match prompt. Select I Agree and follow the prompts to set up Voice Match, or select Skip to continue without setting up Voice Match. 


9. If you would like to add another email account, identify music around you, change font size, change wallpaper, review additional apps or control information on the lock screen, select the desired option and follow the on-screen prompts. To continue, without setting up additional items, select No thanks.

10. Review the Get more tips & tricks prompt, then select No thanks or Yes, I'm in

11. Review the Save battery with Dark theme prompt. Select the desired option, then select Next
